Talkin to a guy at work about Cherokee axels, he was saying that if u find one with a factory trailer hitch then it's a "tow" package and it actually has a Dana 35 rather than a Dana 30.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Jeep "wranglers" (CJ, YJ, TJ) and Jeep "cherokees" all came with D-30 front axles. A lot of them had D-35 rear axles, however, which were junk (think: weaker than a 7.5"). TJs and some of the cherokees were non-CAD though, which means that the passenger side shaft in the front axle was all one piece out to the stub, instead of a two-piece with a slip joint. From what I understand the 8.25" rear axle was a common upgrade and a lot of the JKs have D-44 front axles.

Ya I guess that would make more sense eh,
I was kinda skeptical about cause I've never read anything like that and I read about this shit all day lol

Knew the stuff about the cad shit

What are jks? I can't seem to figure out the whole jk tj vj bj scheme.

jk is the latest version of the wrangler, previous versions were tj, yj and cj. The cherokees were all xj (don't know about the new one). The latest version of the grand cherokee is a wk, previous versions were wj and zj. Hope that helps.

Lots of ball joints on jeeps, especially if they have the long arm conversions.

He may have been after a different meaning for the acronym...

I know, but that would have required moving the thread to the tailgate.
