Anybody try to mount dana 35 snouts on to 98+ 4x4 ranger spindles. If you have, what problems did you have.

Thanks Brian

Ummmm...huh....and why?

building a buggy with ifs, using ranger knuckles but want u joints instead of cv's

Brian

Ok....but as your suspension moves the axle shafts need to get longer and shorter....which the plunge joint on the CV shaft takes care of...how are you going to manage that with solid axle shafts and u joints?

I recall the '98+ spindles are held on with 3 bolts, whereas the '90-'97 ones have 5 bolts (probably a different diameter hole too). I have a feeling you're in for a pretty good amount of work with this one, but it does sound like an interesting project nonetheless.

At this point I have not torn into either system. Would you guys say they are "hub centric" or "lug centric," or does it matter.

Brian

The spindles are "hub centric" (if you will) on the knuckle.
