The inner axle shafts are smaller and neckdown to fit into the hybrid....which is the d28 carrier and gears.
Everything else from there out to the knuckles is d35. So, yes you do need the inner shaft from a hybrid d28/35 axle.

thanks i found the answer and tried to delete the thread,but couldn't.Anyone got a drivers side inner axle laying around?
