I bought new tires for my truck, I went with 33" Bf A/T's. I ordered the 4.26 gears for the ford 8.8 in the rear but cant find matching gears for the dana 35. Are there any options available or should I put a stop to the project? I've only been able to find 4.11 and 4.56 from yukon but they skip 4.26/4.30 ratios. Also will I need an overhaul kit to install the new gears or can I use the old parts?

I am Not sure where to find the gears other then to try the stealership. Definitely replace the axle seals they are dirt cheap. Its entirely possible to damage them pulling the axle shaft out.

If you are putting a L/S carrier in the rear Make sure to remember to buy the additive for the rear end fluid.

I don't think you're going to find anything close enough for the D35.

4.10's (can be found stock), or 4.56's are your best bet with 33's.

You will not find 4.30 gears for the Dana 35. Most people get 4.56 gears for 33s.

That is true....4.56's and 33's with a 4L is the popular combo.

Ya but I don't wanna be at 3 grand when im doin 50, this truck is my daily driver and put about 80 highway miles on it everyday.

Pretty much everyone heres truck is their daily driver. I have 4 56s with my 4.0 and 33's, and its not even close to 3000 rpm, more like 2400. Dont know what youre talking about. Trust the advice of people who have done it, and if it were me doing it all over again, I would go 4.88s instead of the 4 56s I currently have, stupid ranger first gear....

yea if its a 5 spd you should only be around 2500rpm maybe a tad more, i have 3.73 in mine and about 60 mph going downhill im at about 1900, i rarely see 5 th gear, i have 33 muds. 4.26 to a 4.56 is not a big jump, probabaly only 100rpm gain. and gas mileage is the price to pay when lifting a truck. theres never a good gas mileage its always decent mileage. and it is best to get the install kit that comes with new bearings and seals cause bearings are pressed on and its not good to press on and off the same bearing.
