Damn cars....

I think we have a pretty healthy supply of sunfires and cavaliers to trash first :icon_thumby::icon_hornsup:

Since they are all fwd those classes are almost scarier than the regular fullsize classes.

They have pickup demos too.

If you want something that sounds really neat but is incredibly boring once you get there...

Just so you guys know... the issue was resolved by doing some adjusting of of the strut itself and the balljoints. Dont know exacly what was done, but it brought the tire in the extra half a degree. No cutting strut mount out and relocating it :yahoo:

Opperation "Go pick up some twins from Colorado" is a GO! :headbang:

If you guys are not the original owners, someone may have done it in the past. It really isn't all that big of a deal. It's not like cutting the whole strut tower out. It is only a little plate that is spot welded to the top of the tower where the strut is bolted in place. And as for putting a Taurus in the derby, I saw one in a local derby and It didn't last 30 seconds. If they had relocated or eliminated the external transmission cooler I'm sure it probably done a lot better because that was the first thing that took a hit.

What are we going to do for demo cars when all the shitboxes are gone? Pickups?

We have a truck derby around here. :D

Friend of mine was going to put his 1998 Ranger in it, but he broke the frame a few weeks before the demo. That truck was a POS. Had to use a fork to turn on the headlights, but you couldn't run the wipers when the head lights were on. The truck also had NO spring mounts when he bought it. It had 4x4's bolted to the frame, with the spring connected to the 4x4's. He put new mounts on before he drove it more than the 4 miles home.

It's scary thinking that the previous owner regularly drove that truck like that.

He ended up parting/scrapping the ranger and buying a neon to demo instead.
