Still haven't heard back on the tires.
Did some more work with my sliders. Haven't found anything super conclusive, but I did some hand calcs and got a pretty good grasp on SolidWorks Simulation.
Here's the hand calc stuff, looks like 2x3 is 3.8 times stronger in bending than 1.75" round tube, and 2x4 is over 5 times stronger.
Here's a couple pics to show I've been doing work in Simulation. I hope to eventually analyze the supports running to the frame, and the entire assembly (slider portion with supports). This is a good start anyways.
This is the analysis on the 2x3 rectangle design, .125" thick wall. 2000lbs load applied on 1.75" diameter supports on the edge of the rectangle. Slider has 1" diameter circular contact with the 'rock'.
