they only have good reviews, i know a few people that run them ALL the time. one of my friends w/ a chevy crew cab just got some of it, he loves them on road and off..

I guess I haven't really looked into the treadwrites. I'm super picky about tires. There's a few reason's that I wouldn't want to go with retreads. Maybe earlier in my wheein career, but I think I demand more from a tire than what they may be capable of. I could be wrong too, just a risk I'm not sure I'm willing to take.

the treadwrights are different than any retread i've even seen.. i've seen them pushed hard on truggy's and jeeps and a crew cab chevy surburban flat bed thing....

idk, offering a different opinion that you maybe didn't think about.

but don't overlook them b/c they are retreads, read the reviews... there is a company that uses them out in moab. all of their reviews are positive. just read around if its something you might be interested in.

I'm worried about their durability for my application. Single digit pressures, high traction hogging on rocks one day, and at street pressure goin down the highway at 70mph the next day. Heat cycles, chunked lugs, huge tire deformation while wheelin - over and over and over again.

Tires have a hell of a life. haha

Not only that, I'm not sure how they balance. If it's tough to balance when it's 'new', it's going to suck after a couple wheelin seasons. My tires get chewed up pretty good.

I'd be more apt to consider them if it was a trail only rig.

That part wouldn't make me worry. What would worry me is sidewall strength. Depending on the tire size, you might be able to specifiy which carcass they use, but there's still a chance that you might get a crappy carcass with a thin sidewall.

At least in my case (16.5") I'm pretty much stuck with the .mil carcass, which means I would still have to worry about the thin sidewall on those tires.

After fighting with tires for a bit, just spend the money and buy new ones. That way I would think you'd have a good chance of getting something you'd like right out of the box.

But If you're looking at used, tax time is right around the corner. And that seems to be when everyone dumps 'used' tires so that they can go up in size.

I've never bought used tires in my life, and if I do they'll be 80%+ tread. I'll keep lookin. If it comes to it I'll buy new.

buddy ran them for awhile. they did allright but as he found out the sidewall was their weak spot. on the plus side he got a new tire for free every time he managed tear the sidwall up. they didnt do AMAZING in any area but they didnt do HORRIABLE neither.

They're 39.5's I think. Either a 16.5 or 16" rim. Can't remember.
