daily doubler build

....Kage - I haven't really looked into the Nittos. For some reason I just don't like them too much, and though I haven't checked lately, I always had it in my mind that they were expensive. I dunno.

They are, but what isn't when it comes to tires? The main reason I bring them up is that the set of Nitto Mud Grapplers I've got have about 47,000 miles on them (they were off a DD that saw weekly trail duty, and no I'm not exaggerating either). After all that, two of the tires are still at 53%, and two are at 30% (the lower two tires were on a spooled axle).

While YMMV, I'm planning on trying to sell the bead lock setup I have to go back to the Nitto/H2 combo once the D60 swap is done.

Group of us went to Mission impossible (offshoot to the badlands property) earlier this year. Our "guide" had mud grapplers on his built TJ. He struggled through and over every obstacle. They didn't clean for nothing in the mud. We had guys on BFG km2s, cooper STT's, LTBs, Iroks, sx's they made everything look like a cake walk compared to that guy.

Ive always heard mud grapplers are mall crawlin tires my buddy has them on his chev 1500 and says theyre shitin mud

The grapplers do have a cool tread design though.

Mud Grapplers suck ass. And for a tire that sucks ass they are way over priced.

Mtr kevlars get my vote. I don't care for the KM2s either.

I'm still eyin the classifieds for some kevlar mtr's. Not really in a big rush, but if there's a deal I'll jump on it.

Shoulda bought mine! Even had the right rims for ya... My tires went to a chevy, and my rims a dodge, lol.

I vote MTR K's... in a 38x14.50, the 37's were on the skinny side for my liking.

My ride in MOAB earlier this year...

Lol, lots of love for the grapplers around here :icon_twisted:

I don't really play in the mud, so I can't really comment on them there. On the rocks I've been pretty impressed with what this set of 'bald' grapplers will do. This coming from a guy that nearly allways ran Super Swampers in the past.

The main reason I'm throwing them out there is that they seem to last quite a while when doing the weekend toy/DD thing. And I've been extremely happy with the road manners of them as well (no tow rig, and I tend to drive the truck around alot, so I have to give up some offroad preformance for drivablity).

They do have a fairly stiff (and tough) sidewall, so I can see how it might suck to get them to flex on a lighter rig. On my pig, no worries.

Bray, I think you just need some stickeys, and a beater DD :thefinger:

we believe in the mud grapplers around here for Rocks... idk about mud we don't do much mud.. we like trails and rocks. all of the major SpyderOffroad in Horn Lake uses them... and LOVES them.

i tried the DD/wheeler for awhile and it never worked for me. it is so much less nerveracking knowing that if I dont make it outta the woods under my own power i dont HAVE to get going anytime soon.

WAIT I DONT EVEN HAVE A DD WHAT AM I TALIN BOUT.
+1 for the company vehicle

I drive mine 40 miles a day :thefinger: I've had a tow rig and trailer but doing it this way is a lot cheaper. Don't waste your money just get the KM2s:D

+2 on the KM2
