ok so i want to use the original rims from my ranger and im doing the d44 sas from a 78 f150 the lug patern is 5 on 5 1/2 but the ranger is 5 on 4 1/2 is there any way to swap to a differant settup that would make it the right size or is my only option a wheel spacer ?

As far as I know the only way to get a 4.5 pattern on a real d44 is by using outers off a mid to late 70s dodge half ton. They had the small pattern however they don't have hubs they will be locked in the whole time. Milemarker does make a conversion kit to swap it out for a lockout hub that looks almost identical to a rangers D35 TTB hub. You may even get lucky with your search and find an axle that already has had the hub conversion done to it. My brother is doing the same swap as you. He can't seem to get the TTB aligned correctly. So its getting a narrowed HP d44 with dodge outers. He go lucky and scored a complete dodge d44 that already had been converted to hubs on craigslist for $100 !
