I want to put a lock right in my D35 front. So far I can only find a lock right listed for the D35 (Jeep). I know that the D35 is a rear axle for a jeep and a front axle for a ford. Will a locker for a D35 rear fit in the D35 front?

Also, is the axle shaft from a '93 Explorer 8.8 3/4 inch or 7/8th?

no i dont think so because i asked a question like that once about dana 30 cherkoee front axle, because i have a set of 4:56 gear for it and asked if they would fit in a dana 35 ford and everyone was going nuts, telling me stuff that i knew that saying i was wrong. so they wouldnt answer your questions about jeeps. they hate they i guess???

The lockright should fit easily.
The jeep gears won't work because the ford D35 uses reverse cut gears.
Otherwise, a D35 is a D35.

Ken.

Thanks man. I was wondering why I couldnt find a D35 lockright marked ford.

Actually, many Jeep carriers are different internally. A Jeep Lock-Right locker may not fit the Ford carrier. The carriers are the same externally however, so you could swap a Jeep D35 carrier into your Ford axle and then you'd be able to use the Jeep Lock-Right.

Aussie Locker lists the correct locker for the D35 TTB and it's cheaper than the lock-right...
Also, is the axle shaft from a '93 Explorer 8.8 3/4 inch or 7/8th?
It's not the axle shaft, it's the cross pin. All 31 spline 8.8s built after 86 or so have 7/8th cross pins. 28 spline 8.8s and pre-86ish 31 spline 8.8s have 3/4" cross pins.
