i'm doing some wheeling tomorrow, and i was just curious about something, where's the breather on the front diff? d-35 the rear diff has a nice long tube to the top of the frame for the breather... does the front have this same length on it?

how about the manual trans or transfercase? are they snorkeled?

answers i'm looking for a) if you have a truck that has an extended rear breather (stock) is your front also extended? and B) if you don't, do you know where it is so i can check while i'm under there changing the fluid this afternoon

The breather tube on the front isn't as long and is not attached to anything. Its molded into a ? shape. You should see it sticking up off the top. If not, then it probably dry rotted and broke off.

Edit: Just noticed you had an 07. Not sure if the ifs is the same.

where abouts on the diff? i would assume they are more or less the same housing, as long as you have a torsion bar ifs d35

No I don't have torsen bars. You can see my hose here.

there should be a short vent hose on your diff, regardless of year. Get some clear tubing and extend it up to the engine bay if youre worried, thats what I did.

ive been through my fare share of water. and i never had an issiue with any of the stock breathers.

untill this

then my transfer case fried about two weeks later.

get some nylon line or something of the sort and extend them!!!!

I'm kinda wondering if the front comes up fairly high already... I know the rear does on my truck... There's like a 3 foot line!!

I will extend themfor sure but tomorrow I am going wheeling and need to know how deep I can go, as I put 40$ worth of new fluid in earlier today
