So Im trying to get everything taken care of before I get the B2 in the shop next monday to do the axle swap.

Currently -
88 b2
Rancho 6"
7.5
d28

Installing -
91 Exploder 8.8 - Drums :(
91 Exploder d35.

I have all of the parts from the original b2 drive train, and the front D-Shaft from the exploder. No exploder rear d-shaft. Just ordered the RuffStuff 8.8 simple swap kit. Got a new set of +6" Procomp es3000 shocks.

Can anyone tell me what im in for with the rear shaft? I know the flange style is different than the b2, plus I dont want that cheasy little shaft in there anyways!! So, I'm gonna go pik-n-pull an exploder rear shaft, once I do, will this shaft need to be extended?

I've read the front d-shaft will work, after being shortened 1".....

Any words of wisdom to help prepare for the swap? Any thing else i should gather?

Thanks everyone!!

I would use the front driveshaft from the Explorer as the rear shaft. This way you get the double-cardan CV joint (which you'll certainly want with your lift).

Your stock BII front shaft will fit the D35 after being shortened 1", yes, although with your lift, there's a chance you might be able to get away without shortening it. Check your slip-spline travel with the driverside front suspension compressed all the way up to the bumpstop. If you got at least a half-inch of spline travel left, you're good.

BTW, Rancho never made a 6" lift, it's got to be another brand (Skyjacker maybe if the parts are red).

Hope that helps.
