ok so i have read about swapping d35 under a b2 and stuff but what about a d28 under a 92 expo. my 35 is really messed up and it needs new ball joints bearings and all that and les swhabs gave me a total of 900 bucks with labor so instead of that i wanna take the d28 out of my b2 and swap it under the expo, would the front driveshaft from the expo still work? or would i need a new one?

It would bolt in, your driveshaft won't be long enough though, you'd quickly shoot past $900 with that one too, you'd probably break a fair amount of axle shafts with it

The drive shaft will work. I don't know where everyone got the idea that you can't run a D-35/1354 shaft with a D28.

I have been doing it for over 3 years now and have yet to have a problem with it. It is well within the safety limit of the slip yoke in the middle, it bolts right up, and it works just fine.

You can argue the "conventional wisdom" all you want but, as my auto tech prof used to say "you can't argue with success".

When I swapped to a D35 with my slip yoke 1350 I had to shorten the 'shaft to get it to work, and that was with some lift. Apples to oranges I know, so I assumed that the opposite would also be true, I stand corrected.

I've seen some of the other guys saying that given shaft is too short as well. I dunno how that conclusion was reached, but I do know that it has been working for me.

As ADSM said, it will work, but as Holyford says, what will be the reliability of a 28 under an Explorer?

Which end?

The generic answer is to take the nut off and hit the ear with a hammer until it pop out.
