I am doing a Dana 35 swap in my B2. Just wondering if the spindles, wheel bearings and rotors are the same from my stock Dana 28?

nope, none of the above. the radius arms *may* be interchangeable but ive heard that the d35 arms are heavier.

Yea, i don't think any of it is interchangeable. It would be easier just to swap arms, knuckles and all anyway though. Are you thinking about spares?

brake pads and calipers are interchangeable and thats about it i think

'95+ Rangers have a bolt on caliper instead of the goofy slide pin set up.

the only thing your gonna wanna swap over from the d28 to the d35 are the d28 radius arms since they use a better style shock mount instead of the horrible stud that the d35 arms use. but if you dont mind braking shock studs when you replace shocks you can just use the d35 arms and throw it in the truck and roll. :icon_thumby:

I am also looking to do the same thing. my question is could I completely swap out everything from a d35 front from an exploader to my d28 on my ranger?

If by "swap over" you mean drop out 8 bolts and put the whole Explorer axle in, then yes. It is 100% bolt in.

Other than the front driveshaft being about 1" too long, yes, it's a bolt in, just make sure the axle ratio's match.

yes i mean complete swap. and im pulling the front and rear axles from the same vehicle so i know they are the same ratio and i dont think i will have to worry about the driveshaft being short since im using the one from the donor vic. thanks for the response. :headbang:

to use the front shaft from the donor you are going to have to use the transfer case from the donor... when they switched to the D35 they switched from the slip splines being in the transfer case to being in the drive shaft
