At least it's the drivers side, that just falls out... passenger side is more complicated... I would check the other 2 joints too though for good measure...

make sure the drivers inner tulip seal isn't destroyed.

those joints are bastard heads to change.

i used to be good at it and do the centers with a custom air hammer head and chisel pik and block of wood shaped to wedge with receiver holes.

what are you meaning tulip seal?

yes. they get blown out easily. clean in there carefully

Those axle u-joints are some of the tiniest I have ever changed. But I do not remember any problems changing them. I had a f150 with a ttb changing the axle joints, I did not think they were coming out. Rust again.

P.S. If you need to straighten the threads up on your old spindle, these files work well and are a good addition to your toolbox.

Im really thinking about sourcing a spindle. Theres a junkyard about an hr away has one for 40 bucks according to carpart.

Since i gotta yank it anyways.

Those thread files are priceless...

I bought a Snap On set back in the mid 80's. Cleaned up a bunch spindles over the years.

When I replaced my spindle hardware I found out they were Geo wheel studs. M10 and just hammers in from the back. Don't worry about snapping them.
