The ol' '94 Explorer is getting close to leaving the fleet, but it has a set of fairly new Warn hubs on it. My Ranger is still sporting the red faded to pink style hubs it left the factory with.

So I would love to swich them around if possible before it gets traded in.

There was a thread a little over a year ago that kinda got off track about the interchangablity of the hubs from the two axles. I need both rigs to still have a functional 4x4 system when we are done.

So will it work? Just take the snap rings out and swap guts or how do you do it?

Your switch won't work but I can offer you a set of auto lockers for the Explorer (CHEAP! $35 shipped w/hardware) so you don't let that set of D35 hubs out of your possession...

For WHEN you upgrade to a D35 (You know you wanna, right?)

Thanks for your difinative answer before I started tearing things apart.

There is a very good chance that the Ex will be gone this week...before I could either get the hubs to swap on or even pysically swap them on. It is my parents car and I live over an hour away from it. Dad is calling tomorrow to try to close the deal on it, if it was possible I was hoping to work on it last weekend.

if they were ford and not warn it would only take swapping the internal gears. I used a Bronco 2 hub on a 91 exploder when the tire shop broke the lock knob off.
