cylinder 2 misfire

Howdy peps. Truck started running bad. doesn't throw a code but I pulled p0302 anyways.

which is great since I already knew it was misfiring anyways.


I am currently at work I can't work on it for another few hours. its got spark, the plug ive pulled and it seems ok.

Probably bad injector?

If so can I steal a injector from a 4.0? ive got a few of those kicking around.

What kind of spark, bright & blue, yellow?

Maybe? Switch injectors and see if miss moves. Does the plug look like it's running lean? I'd do a hot compression test.

Hello all. Problem seems currently solved.

Spark is blue and can jump almost 2 inches from the plug to the firewall before actually contacting the firewall with the ground side of the plug. So its fairly strong.

Swapping out the injector with my old spare injectors from my old 4.0 seems to have solved the problem.


Can I keep the 4.0 injector from 1993 in there? putting the two side by side there are minor differences the injector hole seems if not exactly the same size then extremely close.
