Cybertruck Reveal

The roll up will cover too much bed space for me because of the downward angle. I picture an add-on canopy that makes the roof flat and that has ladder racks incorporated.
It's tesla. Why would they design something for people that work for a living?

I'd rather have the Rivian. I saw it at Overland Expo in May.

I really like the idea of the Rivians. Having 1 motor per wheel will make them one of the best offroad vehicles ever. The Rivian's are going to be amazing for those who offroad adventure a lot and truly need that ability.

I really hope Rivian does well because they are the only other Electric maker that is really doing something. Workhorse is dead, Faraday is dead, Bollingers look great but they won't make many and no one else has produced an actual vehicle yet.

It reminds me of the radar evading design of a spy plane from 20 years ago.

Tesla took alot of cues from planes in designing the body of the new truck. The stressed skin design has been used in aviaton forever

Thats because EVs are a. (expensive)solution to a non existant problem.

Making stuff no one really wants isnt exactly a sound business plan.

....and you would be crazy to take an electric anything miles from civilization.

Non existent problem? Right because we have unlimited oil and burning it is good for you. I'm not a green hippie but last I checked if you run your vehicle in a closed garage while you are in there, you will die. That doesn't seem healthy to me

No one wants? Have you never seen a Tesla? they're everywhere. No one wants the other EV's because they're all terrible. Tesla has proved itself more than proftiable with every car it's made and the truck will just push them that much futher

I'm not scared to take my Tesla away from civilization. You can get adapters to plug into any RV park, dryer or welder type outlet for that matter, any place that has electricity will be able to charge your car.

It’s not that no one wants it... it’s that you don’t want it. The biggest issue is it’s not as convenient as what it’s supposed to compete with.
Gas is easy to store and carry. You put it in a gas can and go. When battery technology advances to the same level of convenience as gas, electric cars will be the norm.

I have never seen electric on a trail. If there is you aint out far enough.

Also, actually, there is so much known oil on earth right now we are swimming in it.

And a garage is a bit different then the outside world.

And teslas everywhere? LMAO i seen one a month. Maybe.

1% of the total market isnt exactly dominiant.

further more. I don't really like people so I don't have a need to drive my tesla in middle of nowhere. My house is middle of nowhere with lots of property surrounding. I have multiple forms of security around my property. I'll see you miles before you get anywhere near me. Kansas is stand your ground state.

Solar panels are coming next year. At that point I will have no need to buy my fuel that basically just supports corrupt foreign governments and all the richest people in the US.

Green house going up next summer. In 2 to 3 years my property will be almost completely self sufficient. but ya'll keep buying that Freedom Gas

Why?

Batteries will never be as close to as easy as gasoline. If they were gas woulda died off in the early 1900s the first time they battled.

I see Teslas every day. But I live north of Dallas. You see everything here.

I'd love to build an electric offroad truck. Just sayin...

Imgine if the beloved Ford, Chevy, Dodge stuck with making electric. That is the only reason electric isn't on trails. They've made so much money continuing to push gas vehicles that have huge maintenance costs thereby pushing profits higher

Tesla is the 1st company to actually make a good electric vehicle and stick to it. Yes they have issues. But lets compare the big automakers first 5 cars to tesla's first 5 cars. It's not even fair.

Electric was never invested in because it is difficult. It takes effort. the big automakers stamp a new outer shell and call it a massive innovation that requires you to plop down 1000's more each year to get the new vehicle with same tech it's had for 20 years

I don't see anyone carrying a gas powered cell phone around wonder why that might be? because electric is far superior with technology.

I really wish Ford would have kept working on the electric Ranger. This would be the ultimate off road package. not too big but not to small and all the capabilities

Batteries will never be as close to as easy as gasoline.

What makes you say that?
Because you don’t know how to build a better battery? ( neither do I, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done.)

We could have electric offroaders like this

Show me a gasser with these capabilities

Gasoline/fossil fuels are one of the most energy dense things on earth.

They are easy to transport, store, are stable enough for average idiots to handle and are way more plentiful then the rare metals used in batteries.

The only thing EVs have is the emissions. But when your tesla is plugged into a fossil fired plant is it really any better?

Not to mention the fact that yes while electric is cheap now...it wont be if EVs become mainstream. Running your fridge will become as pricey as sitting their idleing your 351 all night.

And dont fool yourself. Renewables are not cheaper and can never supply the amount of power we need.

Fossil fuels are the only way to sustain the modern power hungry life we all live,
