CV joint - preventative maintenance or not?

Admittedly i haven't been under a 4wd ranger in years, but that joint looks pretty typical, i think it is all the way in.

Thanks! I _think_ so too, but there's no spec or anything else other then people saying "you might feel a pop sound". Safe to safe I felt nothing.
