I finally got around to replacing the door gaskets (from LMC) on my '88. What's the best way to cut them? They're about 2" longer than they need to be. What's bothering me is they've got aluminum or steel that forms the "clamp" over the sheet metal flange around the door. I want a good, clean cut - tin snips maybe?:dunno:

Tin snips are a bit crude for that job. The last time I had to cut the metal enforced stripping I used a pair of dykes.

Its along the same lines, just a finer tool.

Ok - answered my own question. The metal parts that make the clip are moulded into the rubber and are not one continuous piece. You can cut it with a razor blade in between the individual clips! (I started hacking around on the end of it and figured it out)
