hey I have a 03 4.0. I'm debating to put a new Exhaust system. With new headers and a flowmaster super 44. I don't know if i should cut off all the cats or gust put the new Exhaust behind them? what happens when i cut them off other then my check engine light comes on?

Cutting out the catalytic converters can cause a number of problems. Throws your O2 sensor readings off (cause of the CEL) which also reduces your gas mileage. It's also a lot louder and makes the cab resonate in a very annoying way. Plus to top it all of it's not emissiosns legal anymore. Leave the cats in, do a catback system and you'll be perfectly happy.

If I was you I think I would go with a 50 series flowmaster, I have a 40 and its loud, and sounds crappy. Doesnt sound bad when you first start it up and at idle.

I like my Dynomax Cat-Back. It's just a single in and out with 2.25~2.5" pipe. It's not loud but it makes it purr pretty good. Best of all its under $200! I've had it on my truck for a year and a half with no compaints.
