i want to put some graphics on my truck like a star on both sides covering door and some of the back window. Back in day my dad got his custom made at this graphity place and it was a business logo. I was wondering if i should order one of those and get them to slap it on. But what if someone decides to rip it off? Would clear coat work over it? if anyone has done it, id love to hear your advice

Go to a sign shop and have a vinyl graphic made. Nobody will peel it off, it takes too much time and effort to do when nobody's looking, I'd only worry about that if you had something written that could be made funny by peeling off a few letters. You'd don't want to clear coat over vinyl because just clearing where the graphic is won't stop someone from peeling it off (which is unlikely to happen anyway) The "proper" way to clear over vinyl would be to clear the entire door and every other panel that the graphic covers (potentially the entire side of the truck,) you'd never be able to remove it without making a huge mess and you'd end up with a huge edge under the clear (like factory motorcycle graphics.) I used to work in a sign shop and now I work in a body shop doing graphics (mostly paint, some vinyl)
