WHY DO I KEEP BUYING DODGES?!?!?
Hello. I have a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT with crusie control, power windows, and power locks. I am curious as to whether any of these is supposed to light up. My friend has a 1998 Ranger and none of his light up, however I have heard that they should. I would assume that if a fuse blew all my lights in my dash would quit, so is there a bulb or LED under these or are they not intended to light up? Thanks in advance. I was reading the thread someone had posted about common problems with 1998+ rangers and that was mentioned, so thats why I ask. Also, although its not electrical, it was also mentioned on that thread about a clunking from the driveshaft. Mine does this as well. All my U-Joints are fine and there isnt any "slop" that I can feel, so what is it and should I worry? It's been doing it as long as I've owned it from Aug 2007 @68,000miles and I have 103,00miles.

On my 98 only the locks and windows don't light up. It appears to be just a sticker to me.

Yea, thought the doors maybe didn't, but the cruise control buttons do light up? im sorta used to it now, but when i first switched form chrysler products (they have a cancel button in there somewhere...) i had trouble memorizing my layout in the dark. I work nights and live in minnesota, so its always dark at least ONE way to work, and in winter its both :P but its not a huge deal unless its a REALLY simple fix or something

Yep mine light up on my 98 but I here it is a common failure point for them to go bad, just like the screen on my stereo quit working.

So i guess there's no way to fix it then :P
figures..... except maybe a junkyard and hope they work, but i cant say I'm that concerned
