HELP...:icon_confused: I recently acquired a 1990 Ranger (auto, 4x4, ext.cab) NO Cruise Control. How much (what parts) do I need from a cruise control equipped Ranger at the wrecking yard to upgrade my truck? I can't find any information on doing it. I do a lot of traveling and feel this could save a lot of gas and prevent a few leg cramps. Has anybody done this? I have access to several doners at local wrecking yard.
Thanks

I did this on my 86 Ranger, got the parts from an 86 Bronco II. If I remember correctly, I had to get the steering wheel and column, cruise module, unplug a wire from the back of the fuse panel, and it seems like I had to do some stuff with the brake and clutch pedals. Under the hood, grab the cruise cable, servo, vacuum hoses, speed sensor on trans or transfer case, and wiring. Everything worked after swapping, shouldn't be much different for your truck. Good luck.

Thanks, (Absentminded102) what did you use for a reference to know what you needed and what to do? (books, web site, etc.) I have the parts partially removed from the doner and don't want to screw this project up by missing something. Did you need to replace the instrument panel?

I bought an aftermarket kit from autozone for my 94. Does basically the same as the oem, have not had any issues. Mounted the control over under headlight switch. Cost about a $100 have seen some on ebay for less.

Fortunately, I bought the Bronco II for parts so I had all the time in the world to mess with it. Pretty much all I did was start with one part, and start removing everything that attached to the part, and followed the hoses and wires, taking everything with it. The instrument cluster was fine, didn't have to replace it. I replaced the steering column because I wanted the tilt function, but I'm not sure if it MUST be replaced.

Broomstick and hacksaw, measure twice cut once.
