Cruise Control Problem

I have a 91 ranger 3.0l with 5spd with cruise control. When I push the on button for cruise the radio turns on. I replace the old CD player that is in it when I bought the truck two months ago. I wired the same has the old one it work fine. I think it is a short or a bad ground. Not sure where to look.
