so i just installed cruise into a 99 ranger... factory system.... the buttons for the steering column are Impossible to press.... like if you touch them they dont move .... is their a way i could soften the plastic or something? i went to the junkyard and got another set and these 2 are very hard to press..:icon_confused: whats going on here?

I know what you mean, I think that's why they snap off alot. My right side one was snapped when I got the truck, so after I superglued it back one (been holding over 3 years now), I just hold the back with my fingertips and hit the button with my thumb so I dont snap it off again. It's a lot more noticeable in winter than summer as far as how soft the plastic is. That said, I dont feel a button presssing really when I do press on them, thats just sort of the way they are.

By the way, do your buttons light up? Mine don't, but on my friend's 98 his CC buttons light up...
