I am looking at a 2000 Crown Vic with the police interceptor stuff. What years have the spark plug problem? Anything else to be looking for on these? It's got 86k on it and they're asking $3000.

Unless it has a 5.4L in it there is no spark plug problem, the V-10 was the one that was really bad about it.

Oh ok, that is good to know. I thought the 4.6's had that problem too.

no your good to go. i work on those bad boys all day here at DPS. there is not spark plug problem unless you try pullin the plugs with the heads are still hot.

One thing to check on those is the oil cooler lines, they like to leak pretty good and at that mileage your about due to have the tranny flushed which would be a very good idea, thses trannies dont like burnt fluid very much when they have been used hard. Id also really check the brakes front and rear as teh front wear quick with the officers drivin them

Sweet, thanks for the info. Hopefully the owner sends me some pics soon. I am hoping it's either dark grey, dark blue, or black........don't especially want a white one.

Well, hell no on that one. Pretty well trashed at 81k, driven by a high schooler. Back tires were burnt off, front tires really weather cracked, front brakes gone, cracked windshield, leaking transmission fluid, smelled really burnt, and doesn't shift right, alignment way off, and too many other little issues I've already forgotten about.

The kid's mom tried telling me that it's got brand new tires, brakes, and had the alignment done...guess she doesn't know how her kid treats it??

I wish I could find a Marauder that I could afford.

well if it was used as a police car you can garantee that it was beat to crap for those 81k miles
