To make a long story short, I cut my exhaust in two, right below the engine on my 90 2.9. This is where its coming down from the driver side to meet up with the passenger at the Y. I've tried welding and a little bit of other stuff an ignorant kid would do to try to seal the exhuast. What should I do? I was thinking an exhuast shop would be able to fix it up..but is there anything I can buy and clamp down on both sides to fix it quickly? And is any damage being done driving it this way (other than all the gas escaping) ?

the gasses will speed up under body corrosion and your probly losin a lot of power

exhaust leaks can be a PITA to seal. either take it to a shop and have them weld it or get a junkyard y pipe.
