Crazy Night!!

I bought a 12ga for the same reason Allan mentioned.

As much as I hate to say it, we don't really have a big crime problem around here, relatively speaking. I would like to think that we do but nothing like you guys are talking about happens. We have a lot of vehicle robberies and the occasional drunk indian knocking on your door at 1AM, otherwise just another quiet midwestern town.

Two guys boxed in my mom in her 81 Dodge Ram, (Which was Dead, Go figure)

They came up to the window with guns in hand. My dad pulled out his CCW, and held it to the rear window, They promptly ran back to thier car and drove away.

Resistance is key in a hostile situation.

What part of GA are you in? Where I live there are absolutely NO shootings or anything. One night someone tried to kick in our front door. The alarm went off and I guess everyone scattered. Whenever I turn 18 or 21 I plan on getting me something to keep in my truck, just in case.

Douglas County. We have Shooting every so often, dumb asses,No one gets away for long.Had some serious Sheriffs every since I have been here, usually get their suspect and a conviction.

Life is like poker and a 12ga Remington 870 is ALWAYS a winning hand...

a 9mm, 40S&W or 45ACP is "nice" when carrying a shotgun is akward, but if you are at home and trouble comes to you, then you want artillery, not a sidearm.

Don't know if you remember, durring the first gulf war the media got to tour Gen.Swartzkoffs headquarters and bunker.Behind layers of security was his private sleeproom, modest and sparsley furnished and by the bed was a 12 ga shotgun.Reporter asked it's purpose and he said something along the line of if the stuff hits the fan i'm taking some with me.

wow thats way different from here the only people with guns are the pakies, the asians, and the hunters, and sh*t, but you guys also out populate us california has more people than the whole country of canada. Its not surprising though california warm, canada for the most part cold 8 month of snow 4 months of ok weather lol. but what you guys make up for in guns we make up for in excellent beer and socials!

You will find that there is very little crime against people in the parts of this country where arms are common.

There are still property crimes, but....

The areas were the gun laws are very restrictive invariably have
the highest murder rates.

Sign hangin on the gate to Chuck Norris ranch,"we don't call 911" with a sign under of a six shooter.:icon_thumby:

i was on the way to tech college and it is in north stlouis one day they were doing road work on my normal route, i decided to take a side street. as i was coming to a stop a pack of 5-6 preteen punks saw me starting to stop and started walking over to my truck. i decided to not even do a rolling stop and blew the stop sign.

in my rear view mirror i saw that they turned around just started walking away like nothing happened.
i never went that way again. some times it is better to avoid blasting someone if you dont have to.

HOLY CRAP! :icon_surprised: I have to admit that if I was ever in a situation like any of you guys, I'd probably piss myself! (while putting it into 4Low and flooring it!) Over here, the only thing that usualy gets shot off is a mouth! LOL Flip someone the bird :flipoff: , yell a bit and move on. Not to say that its all rainbows and roses here. I know that every area has it's trouble, but I have been lucky enough to not have to see anything that serious yet.
I agree with the right to bear arms. Because we can't over here, only the bad guys have guns, and they know that the people they are messing with have nothing more than a cell phone!

Chris.

I'm curious, those that have a lot of gang/punk activity; have they ever laid under vehicles and slashed peoples ankles as they go to get into their cars?

It was a problem in Port Huron for a couple of years, when we had a lot of gang activity (not sure where it went to though, they never talk about it anymore :icon_confused:).
