Crawlin's Build Thread

is it just me, or is your pinion angle way off on that rear axle?

:icon_thumby:The perches aren't welded on yet, so the axle rotated in place a little. I still need to fix the rear shackle angle then I can set the pinion angle and burn the perches into place.

The bed is done.

Thanks bud, we will have to get up to the hills to test it out soon.

Thanks, I know, it sits high in the rear like a hot rod right now and I really want it to level out. Im going to move the shackle hanger to reset the rear shackle angle on friday and then add the weight of the tank and spare to see how it sits with the 63"s, hopefully it will level out a bit. The rear is still just tacked so I can change my mind on springs, etc if I have to.

I could also remove the overload from the 63" springs, but that will only drop it ~3/4" or so and will lead to more springwrap.

Worse case scenario I could french the spring mounts into the frame but that would be a lot of work and weaken the frame. So Ill see what I can do and post up my results this weekend.

The bed came out pretty good for cheap spray paint. I used Duplicolor perfect match automotive paint. I tested it and a can of rustoleum gloss black inside the bed first and the Duplicolor was much closer to the original paint.

before i frenched anything, i'd go back to outboard leaf mounts...

Looking good!

I'm debating weather or not to inboard my 63's when I get to the back end of my truck. I'm mostly just wanting to get rid of the cheap ass stock hangers (my rear ones are bending) Plus it would get rid of my factory block as well.

Inboard em, all the cool guys are doing it.:icon_thumby:

how I intend to do mine when I shorten my wheelbase...

plus no interference with the cab mounts:icon_thumby:

Did it make the truck any more unstable feeling?
