what's the difference between rock crawlers and mudders and trail trucks?

Are their different suspension setups, drivetrain setups, overall differences?
I'm just wondering cause to me they seem all basically the same

crawlers and "trail rigs" i almost consider the same... the difference between a crawler and mud truck in the standard use is mudding trucks are generally bigger, not alot of suspension travel.. more along the lines of stiff tall suspension, big motor and wheel speed. Crawlers are usually smaller, lighter.. can have small motors, low gearing. ect.

usually a crawler or "trail rig" will do better all around than a "mudder" dedicated rig.

rock crawling- all about how much travel you have
mudding truck- the height and aggressive tires and alot of travel is not needed
trail truck - not sure

NMB2 got it right. Crawlers and mud trucks are usually dedicated machines while a trail truck is usually the most street friendly of the 3, and will do both things....but not as good as a purpose built rig.
