Any enthusiasts of old VWs here?
Would this badly bent 1964 Volkswagen Beetle rear bumper have any value to anyone? Before this, it was in great condition other than the spot where the chrome had blistered some from rust.
I know there are places that do repair & rechroming of bumpers, just not sure if it is cost-effective for someone to repair this (if it is even possible) vs trying to locate a (I would think rare) replacement (and of course having to pay the correspondingly high price for it)...
My dad thinks it might be OE, but he's not 100% sure (it is stamped "H230A" on the inside with a very small plain font, but has no "VW" logos that we can find).
Has a small tear where it bent (I assume could be welded).
He actually had another one like it in his collection of old VW parts that was in "ok" shape, and is going to have that one restored.
If this one still has any value I'd rather try to see it go to someone who can make use of it before scrapping it.
