My sensor is only held by screw but it looks like it would need 2 screws to keep it from leaking. The problem is that the part I have in it, when I look the part up it comes up as a mazda part. Anybody know why it would start leaking all of a sudden now? I was thinking about just putting some type of sealant around the side that doesnt have a screw so it wont leak, good idea?

The crankshaft position sensor on your 99 should have only one bolt holding it in. It might have a Mazda part number because your ranger and a Mazda B2300 are the same vehicle. I doubt your sensor is causing the leak (but it does have an o-ring that might need replaced - although the whole sensor isn't very expensive). The leak is probably coming from your crankshaft seal. If the leak is below the crankshaft then it could be the front section of your oil pan. I would suggest getting under there with a flash light and cleaning everything up with some break cleaner and towels. Then drive it normally and check a day or 2 later and you should be able to pinpoint which one it is. My guess is crank seal.
