Since it doesn't look like the ranger name plate is going to return to the states or canada. How about the courier name plate for us mini pick up people? And have as a mini or mid size truck. Something to go against the new chevy s-10? Or is it the colorado?

I always thought of the courier as the pre ranger. Always wanted to see a next Gen courier. Seems to me like a truck they would make a 4 door with. Don't see many of them around these days. In fact I'm 21 and I've only seen 2 different couriers driving around. And 2 that wouldn't start.

What's the difference in the Colorado/canyon and the s10

I know a while back I read the Colorado/canyon was supposed to be the next big thing in ifs off roading and Toyota's biggest competitor.

Colorado (Chevy Name) Canyon (GMC Name). Difference is size and engines. With the S-10 there was a 4 cylinder base engine, and then a V-6 option. The Colorado and Canyon are offered with a 5 cylinder base engine, and you can get them with a 5.3L V8 or something around that size I know they have a V8 option though.

The S10's were great work trucks and were closer to compare to a Ranger, the Colorado/Canyon are larger, are available with a crew cab, something they started doing with the S10's and then stopped production on them completely.

Other than those things and cosmetic interior/exterior engine/transmission differences I'm not sure what other stuff is different they look and drive completely different.

If they're supposed to be competing with Toyota's trucks they're quality and capabilities are extremely lacking.

S-10's came with 4 doors and were pretty decent rides. I have had friends with them and they really loved the trucks.

Yep for a few years and then they quit making the S-10 completely.

My guess is the new truck would be an F-series name (F-100 etc) so they can add another truck to the nameplate to put more distance between Ford and GM to ensure the trucks remain best selling.

Sent from Villa Auditore using a carrier pigeon.

I had a Courier way back when. It was a great little truck even with the side panels and floor boards completely rusted out. Rust.....probably the reason you don't see Couriers on the street anymore.

theres a courier in a town a few miles down the road. its been sitting in the guys driveway for ages. i wanna buy it off him some day.

Chevy made the LUV when the courier was in production I ocassionally see a courier and LUV around here but very seldom.

For over a year I have been driving a 82 Mazda B2200 diesel. I believe it has the same body as the Courier. I just picked up my second Ranger diesel today ( a 4x4). They are a totally different breed of cat. I am getting hooked on these Rangers. They seem to be a big truck in a small body. I also have Toyota and a Isuzu diesels and they are all excellent trucks. I plan to keep the Rangers and the 86 Toyota 4x4 turbo diesel and sell the rest.
