ok, I have a 6" lift but am missing a couple key pieces, was making a list of stuff through TRS Fab and offroad, here goes:

-drop pitman arm, skyjackr or Tuff Country, does it matter? skyjacker worth the extra $10?
-Shocks, would I be better off getting them while I'm buying here or get them locally? would it be worth doing the stud eliminator kit thing for the upper shock mount in the front? I can make them myself easy enough...
-brake lines, should I get the extended lines or just get the line extensions like shown in the tech library?

and skyjacker 6" lift leaf springs, do they expect me to keep my stock lift blocks? just anticpating which U bolts I need

With a 6" kit get the Skyjacker FA-600 extreme drop arm for best steering angles.

For cheap extended brake lines I like to use these:

Raybestos: BH 38622, BH 38623 They are 26" long chevy rubber lines.

For the rear brake line you can make a simple bracket to drop the stock line down a bit and then there is plenty of room in it.

The skyjacker leaf springs that are for the 6" kit do retain the stock block.

man, they really like that extreme drop pitman... over twice the price! I think I can swing it though, any good place to get them? all I found was summit through ebay in my 5 minute search... $210 shipped vs the $80 plus shipping for the 4" drop through TRS

that would be the best to go with for a homebrew superrunner style setup too wouldn't it... that's for a later date though, after the truck isn't my daily driver...

Give Jim a PM, see what he gets for the FA600 arm, I know he can get them (not sure why he hasn't put it up on the TRS Fab page though). For some reason I'm thinking it was around $180 or so, but that might've been from awhile ago.

Thanks Junkie

any suggestions on shocks? I've never really shopped around for them to know if I'm getting a good deal, the only shocks I've ever bought were Napa stock replacements...

Jim added the extreme drop pitman arm now, cheaper than Summit

are skyjacker shocks ok? and if so, hydro or nitro? the price looks nice, but that's sometimes something to think about...

my plans have changed a little, looks like I'll need a tad more lift to do what I want, so I'll do coil spacers for now (F150 spacers) then look into jeep coils, but shocks are about the last thing I need to add to my cart

I've used the SJ Nitro shocks before. They seemed pretty decent. If you can swing it though, Bilstein shocks are far better (better ride and better control).

Who is Jim? i need one as well.

Jim Oaks...owner of TRS and TRS Fab and Offroad.

yeah, click the "parts" button in the upper right corner of this page, then go to the suspension components page

ouch, $908.25 on TRS for gears, shocks, pitman arm, and other stuff, then $285ish for an ausie locker...

now I just need to swap the 3.73 axle and pumpkin into my explorer so I can strip the axles that are going in my ranger (the exp has 3.55's now, no use letting the 3.73's go to waste, along with the LS) to get them ready. and head to the junkyard and get some F150 spring pads, get my leaf springs taken care of, get tires, get brake lines, you know, the little stuff...

The little stuff usually kills a guy...

yeah, but it will pay off, getting 35's on a D35 and locked 8.8 it ought to be fairly capable, next summer I'll get jeep coils and extend my radius arms and I'm sure I'll impress my toyota buddies... I think I'm getting the right parts in place to do things right and not waste too much money, at least I have someone to install the gears for free (they do it for a living), just wish I had a garage big enough to do the work in...

Yea with my 36's, d35 and Detroit locked sploder 8.8 it goes most places I need it to go.

I haven't gone to extended arms or soft coils yet either.
