Part of me hates to put a post like this out there...

But I think we could use 'em about now...

Got home from a 13 hour shift (with a 45 minute commute) to find out that my 'adopted' grandfather passed away today.

I called work and told them that I may not make it in tomorrow.

We kinda knew it was coming because he's been going down for awhile now, but....

Thanks for the well wishes ya'll.

I say adopted because my real grandfather died before I knew him. My grandmother never re-married but the guy she was seeing took the place of my grandfather and he did the job admirably. Always looking out for us kids and taking care of us. He bought a power wheels and grandma said he spent an entire evening putting it together just so he could present it to me. I used it till I outgrew it, then my brother used it till he outgrew it. Back when they first started making 'em and they were made to last.

Lots of good memories...
