Ok I will first say that personally I don't care for carburetors every one of them I have seen are such a PITA when they run out of gas or it is cold out.
Also I want to stay with the 2.8L in our Bronco 2 I don't want to do a 4.0L swap (I have my reasons for it).

Now we have an 84 Bronco 2 4x4 2.8L carbureted TK5 that originally we were going to use as a beater truck but have been thinking about fixing up. If we were to fix it up we were thinking it would be cool to have fuel injection instead of carbureted while keeping the stock engine.
Could I possibly convert the truck from carbed to FI?
Is there a kit being sold to do it?
Could I take the heads, intake manifold, and such from a 2.9L and throw it on my 2.8L?

I know this sounds crazy but I am kinda up for the project.

Search around in the tech library and on the forums for a 2.8 TBI swap from a GM vehicle. A few on trs have done it and are very pleased with the results. That would probably be the easiest way to get fuel injection on your 2.8.

Super is right. The TBI setup is the first best option if you want to keep the 2.8.

After that you have to start looking at engine swaps. The idea of keeping the 2.8L but swapping 2.9 heads and intakes is self-defeating, because then you just have a 2.9 with the distributor in the wrong spot and spinning backwards.

thanks guys will look into that.

Adsm I didn't know about that I don't know to much about the 2.9Ls.

The only reason we will be keeping it 2.8L if we fix it up is because of the fact we would be restoring it sorta for my dad as he loves these B2s.
