cosworth 2.9?

Has any one ever looked into doing a cosworth 2.9 swap from a ford scorpio?. Be kinda neet

The North American Cosworth 2.9l basically just had a different intake, same engine as in the Rangers, 2.9l Ranger was 140HP, Cosworth 150HP, both had 12valves.
They both used Cologne 2.9l Block, which became the 4.0l block(160HP)

European 24valve Cosworth 2.9l used a Cologne 2.9l block, reenforced, and had dual overhead cams with 24 valves, spec was about 200HP

If you could get the European 24valve Cosworth, it would be a nice swap, but those engines were/are very popular over there as well, so wouldn't be cheap

i am thinking of the 24v 2.9. i see on ebay over there you can get a cosworth for around 500 pounds. if it was worth the money. ship part of the car to the states and start swapping in. kind of a bolt in i would think. only thing would be the heater box that would be a problem.

Another "only problem" would be parts.

500 British pounds is $750us, and this is a low priced used engine off Ebay..........

Shipping..............engine only is close to 450lbs so wouldn't be cheap, assume another $750.
Not sure if there would be a Duty tax on imported engine, there would be Federal emission standards on the engine, not sure how that works?

So even if you got it here for under $2,000(and we are talking a "cheap" used engine that may need imported parts), I am not sure the "cool factor" would be high enough, vs local 2.9l build.
