Coronavirus

Reminds me, I or someone else may have already posted this already...

The North American International Auto Show in Detroit in June was cancelled due to the virus, and the building it's in is actually going to be used as a hospital.

Seems I heard New York is doing the same to one of their venues.

I also see were there is going to be a few strikes today for people in the service industry. Amazon is one... and one other "we shop for you" companies.

They want hazard pay. I know I've been going into my place to work just to insure that my crew doesn't think I expect them to take all the risk with running the place. I have had 4 people refuse to work due to this... and that's ok... we fully expected it to happen. Just makes me wonder where it will end?

I wont say anymore as i know its a touchy subject. I also realize i have a non normal viewpoint on lots of things.

I guess i just see it as everyday when i walk out my door there are 1000 things that could kill me. Now theres 1001.

However, i have been taking more precaution, washing my hands alot, the 6 ft away rule, etc, but i still go and do the things i wanna do.

My mom works at a nursing home, really old sick people not just your typical eldery place. The mortality rate for those folks would be insanely high so the place is running like a prison and alot of nurses aren't going in out of fear. I'm sorry I understand some people not wanting to work during this especially if your job isn't really critical but if your a healthcare worker you should get your ass to work or find a new career.

I haven't been working much because I work from home and don't want people coming to my house so I'm only doing stuff I can pick up and drop off like fixing lawnmowers...

33 days ago, Trump said, "We're going very substantially down, not up", and "the 15 cases within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero".
Yesterday he stated that if the number of deaths were kept at 100,000 we would be doing "a great job"

I've noticed the grocery stores shelves are filling back up again here. I was able to actually buy some pork chops, burger and eggs on Saturday. They also had toilet paper and paper towels. Still no luck with hand sanitizer or disinfecting cleaners though.

Wife and I went to eight different stores this Sat, From WalMart, to Harbor Freight, to Tractor Supply, looking for Toilet Paper, Nitrate gloves, and Ramen Noodles

Found the last package of gloves, at O'Reillys, and one 12 pack of Chicken Ramen, at the second WalMart!!! Did find one can of Sausage Hash, tho!!!! Going in to Wal Mart tomorrow, as they open one hour early, for 60+ people-

Damn that's sad. Here in Va, Shenandoah Valley area, our stores are almost completely stocked. Local Martins, Wal Mart, Food Lion...can walk into any and buy whatever we need. TP a bit short on selection, but available.
All food is there in quantity...no shortages.

If your looking for toilet paper, go to staples or a similar office supply store. Ace hardware had it yesterday too but only in individual rolls. Staples has bulk backs online and in stores. No one thinks of going to stapes for toilet paper...

Ive also noticed the stores opening early for seniors are not enforcing it very well. My parents have been going to those places early in the morning and they said half the people are much younger and no ones kicking them out. Dollar general, walgreens, and ACME all have senior hours and no enforcement.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing isn't it?

Around here the early open thing is for the elderly, those with compromised immune systems and expectant mothers. I don't know how it is enforced because I don't qualify for any of those but that could explain why there are some younger people there.

I read a couple articles on MSN this morning that I found interesting: the GAO warned in 2003 that hospitals had drastically inadequate numbers of ventilators. In 2003, they had 17 years to fix it and didn't so now it's Trumps fault that he didn't order them to do their jobs in January. I don't like him but they're trying to shift the blame for their negligence.
The Chinese were saying they had something over 2000 virus deaths in Wuhan but area crematories have ordered 33,000 urns. I don't think they're hoarding them.

Also, for TP, check Lowes and Home Depot...both carry it.

It's way easier to blame Trump... it suits theirs needs for the moment.

The new Chinese proverb says... he who believes what China says... is Major League Dip Wad
