You will like this... Hungry????

It strikes me as click bait and trying to stir outrage over nothing much. So some woman ate a bat 4 years ago? If society wants to condemn people for eating virus carrying animals perhaps society should look at home i.e. cattle. The cattle industry was hit very hard when the BSE outbreak happened. Didn't see any outrage about eating beef....
At least I didn't see any here in the middle of Alberta - also the middle of cattle country.

How about Texas Chicken.....Armadillo. It carries leprosy bacteria.

Most people eat beef differently than people who eat bat soup lol. No one is walking up to a cow in the field and eating it's arm or leg for that matter.... I think if you eat something that could be a perfect host for bacteria and viruses (like a big ugly bat) then you deserve to get a virus. I.E. "You can't drown if you don't go in the water."

Almost everything we eat CAN contain deadly viruses. You could eat a rabid leprosy armadillo with the flu and not get sick because long long ago we invented fire.

Me smart, me use fire. Me no die.

I'd eat bat? Cooked...

On the surface a flying rodent would seem more sanitary than a pig that roots and lays in mud all day.

But while everybody likes bacon I can't say as I have ever heard of bat wings in a grocery store.

Beef muscle can't contain things like tapeworms or certain viruses. It's too dense. Only the surface can contain bacteria or parasites. Which is why you can eat beef tartare.

I eat raw beef all the time. I sear the outside only. Beef tartare I eat 100% raw.

I suggest you read up on Trichinellosis and the various nematodes that are common in fish. Also, viruses are the primary causes of myositis. Viruses can even found in nerves with rabies being the most commonly known.

What in gods name does that have to do with beef which neither gets fish parasites or rabies?

Wait do you think beef come from the ocean?

No, but clams do. They contain the non-deadly "gottapoopierightnow" virus, which is why your always having to find a furnace to poop in !!!

I overlooked the beef part. However, you can get Trichinosis from beef, but since cattle usually have a herbaceous diet it is very rate for them to get trichinosis.

News brief...

First confirmed transmission case reported in Chicago.

Travel ban in place... global emergency status.

If you get trichinosis from beef you need to stop buying your meat out of the back of a van...
