Coronavirus

And with your PHD in geopolitics and many years abroad studying Chinese culture I respect your opinion very much.

Corona viruses are a group of related viruses that infect mammals(we are that, lol,) and birds
SARS, MERS, and COVID-19 are a few that can be deadly to humans, but there are MANY other corona viruses that can just cause mild symptoms and even these 3 are not deadly to all humans, some have mild symptoms or none at all.

OK, point is, because Covid-19 originated in China, it stands to reason that there have been other out breaks of a close relative to Covid-19, close enough and not deadly enough for people to dismiss it as a cold or "flu" so no medical assistance needed
And this cold or Flu gave these people an immunity to Covid-19, which is why the numbers in China are not as high as you would expect for the population.

When the out break in Wuhan started they tested for known viruses, which takes DAYS, when they found out it didn't match any known viruses they informed WHO in mid to late Dec
And head of US CDC was notified on Jan 1st, by direct phone call, because he was on vacation and had not answered emails about this.
He informed Trump and his advisors the first week of January
No one, in the world, thought it was going to be this bad, not just the US, China did their lock down of Wuhan, and most of us thought look at those Commie Jerks, glad we don't live in a country that would do that to its people.
Well, many countries have paid the high price of that thinking.

You can blame any one you want, thats what people do to feel better, but it doesn't change the fact that we got caught barefoot at a scorpion convention
There is no "fault", there will be more viruses, always has been, all ways will be, 200,000 years of our evolution and virus evolution proves that
"Those that forget the past are doomed to repeat it"

Our country is effed until the electoral college dies and the two party system is revamped so that the best of humanity has a chance to win votes instead of the "chosen" two by a secret party system.

Hey guess who said that before being elected based on the electoral college and a party he wasn't a part of until the democratics denied him? Our country would literally be better off without a president at this point.

He's not a leader, he's a megalomaniac who cannot survive without attention. Our country is in shambles because of him. And he is still grandstanding about how awesome he is and how great we are doing. THIS IS NOT GREAT YOU DAMN MORON!

Hey but at least he's happy kim jun un is doing ok... they are in love afterall. His words not mine.

your telling me the gop chose trump? no....no . just no.

Yea, get rid of the electoral college so the people in the big cities run the country? Not very smart.

People who live in big cities are different than people that live out in the country. People that live in the big cities like other people living right against them. They have no room to have anything. No generators when the power goes out, no room for a garden to grow their own food, rules and regulations so they can't go out and tear down their ranger in their driveway and fix it themselves. They totally depend on the government when anything bad happens and are the first to start hollering when something does happen.

People that live in the country have a more self sufficient lifestyle, and view the government with suspicion. Our fear is after all this has happened, the city people are going to start moving out into the country. It's already happening, California is driving people out with all their regulations, people from the northeast are coming down and ruining Va where I live.

gist of republic.

it is a disaster for 50 plus 1 democracy. i prefer the constitutional republic where individual liberty is the rule.

“I used to like the idea of the Popular Vote, but now realize the Electoral College is far better for the U.S.A.,” he said.

flip flop or data mop?
you will have that. i used to think we should hide in the bushes at the church....wait till all of those fuking morons went in there.....nail it shut and burn it down. world saved. but with additional data. i changed my tiny little mind. didnt even know that was possible till it happened.

like voluntary national suicide.....would not have believed that 10 months ago either.

predictable response is fair. actual events not so much.

their form of government is not even chinese...thats my point. how long can that last....their social compact is failing.

so this black swan deal may be a fix...for all of us. we may all do better in the end. you look at what they are doing to trump directly and australia.......the wolf warrior diplomacy ... interesting times for sure. you would think grump and DU were running the ccp.

the tactic is sound....no need for truth..just gist and nuance. these people are ruthless and have been at war with us since i was born...smile in your face back stabbing motherfawkers.

according to them, most of us....deserve the hell that is coming. so in that sense. the video is accurate.
and i did laugh...it is funny.... as morbid.

Neither is the USA.
It really depends on your point of view.
The US must be a terrible place but that doesn't explain the number of people who immigrate here every year legally, much less the ones who come here illegally.

Well one good thing has came from this virus. I've spent a lot more time with the wife and kids doing stuff around the house. Whether it is working in the garden or them helping me with the shop.

I might be a Dr. with all those degrees who likes Rangers and Bronco II 's :)

Yeah, and I might be a nice person.

But we all know that neither of those statements are true.

I watch a lot of news and read a lot, like you guys do,it sounds.
*China has a lab studying viruses in Wuhan that has been accused of having lax security standards. Working on vaccines to sell to the world, possibly?
*The outbreak started 8 miles from the lab in an open air market selling live animals for food which were often butchered and wrapped on the spot. Ever see an open air market with running water to wash your hands or utensils?
*As soon as the virus started China locked down Wuhan( because they knew the cause and how serious it was) so people couldn't travel to other parts of China BUT THEY ALLOWED PEOPLE TO FLY TO OTHER COUNTRIES TO SPREAD THE VIRUS AND STIFLED ANY RELEASE OF INFORMATION FOR MONTHS.
*China's capitol, Beijing is virus free, as is Shanghai their industrial center. Look at Russia, Italy, Spain,U.S.,etc.
*Today there was a story that China had delayed release of info so they could hoard PPE, either for their own use or to sell other countries at much higher prices once the infection spread.
* I don't think China created the virus and I'm not certain they released it deliberately, but once it was released they deliberately allowed it to become a pandemic by hiding information and allowing people to fly to other countries.
Nah, just a coincidence. Near my office actually.

Pitt researcher studying coronavirus killed in suspected murder-suicide in Ross Township

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
A man who police said was found shot dead at his Ross Township home was a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was working on a coronavirus research project.
Police said they believe that Bing Liu, 37, was shot inside his Elm Court townhome by a man who then went outside to his car and shot himself. Liu's death is believed to be a homicide, police said.
The second man was found dead inside the vehicle on Charlemagne Circle, police said. He has not yet been identified.
Liu was a researcher with the department of computational and systems biology in the Pitt School of Medicine, the department said Monday.
"Bing was on the verge of making very significant findings toward understanding the cellular mechanisms that underlie SARS-CoV-2 infection and the cellular basis of the following complications," the department said in a written statement. "We will make an effort to complete what he started in an effort to pay homage to his scientific excellence."
Liu was described as an outstanding researcher and mentor, with expertise in computational modeling and analysis of biological systems dynamics.
"His loss will be felt throughout the entire scientific community," the university said.
Police said Liu and the man who shot him knew each other. Authorities have not discussed a possible motive for the shooting, which remained under investigation Monday.
