I am thinking of putting discoverer st maxx 265 75/16 on my 02 Ranger xlt 4x4. Will they rub? I currently have stock destination 245 75/16. I have not lifted my truck.
Thanx!

I moved this to the tire and wheel forum...there is also a FAQ in here that answers your question about the size.

I don't have personal experience with those tires myself, but I've been impressed by Cooper's other lines of tires.

I ran 265/75/16 tires on my 02 Edge, never had a problem with them rubbing unless I was turning to one side and completely flexed out, ie, had a rear tire off the ground. I run Yokohama geolander at/s tires and I am very impressed with them. Great traction in all areas and very quiet and comfortable on the road.

I have the AT3's on my F250. They are a great tire. Excellent wet and snow traction. Haven't had them off road, but I am certain they would do well in everything be deep mud. I can say they take a lot of weight to balance, but the roll nice without any vibration.

Check for some reviews online.

they will fit no problem, I would suggest if you haven't already cranking the torsion bars, I don't have personal experience with the cooper st's but I have read some good reviews.

I've heard a lot of good reviews about Discoverer ST's. The only cons is the road noise.

Thanx for the input! Can I crank the torsion bars 3 in in front and 2 in in the back? Will that fix the rake on the truck without making my ride too stiff? Thanx!

torsion bars are for the front suspension and you can only go two inches before you have alignment problems. The rear suspension you can lift with lift shackles, blocks, add-a-leafs, etc.

Lots of people here run Coopers and a bud of mine owns a tire shop and likes them a lot.
265/75's will fit fine depending how your torsion bars are. I've had 99 and 02 Rangers, both bought new, and the 99 sat much higher in front than the 02. If it is sitting a little bit nose-down then turn the torsion bars up just enough to make it level, 1.5" or so, and it will be fine.

Cooper ST's are sweet...

You say that like rake means something is broken.

the STT's are really good off road as far as the on road driving they are ok, i'm not fairly pleased by the way they are wearing they have to be rotated on time to keep an even wear. other than that they are pretty quite and fairly smooth on road for being a MT.

I ran stt's for a good 8000k and loved them on and off the road. And ran like a tank in deep snow. Great tire all around IMHO. I would buy them again

X2 on the AT3s. They are great everywhere but mud. I run them on my Dodge 2500. Here is a pic of what happens to them in just an inch or so of mud. They pack up like sardines and it takes a bit of wheel spin to clean them out.
