I have recently installed a Weiand 2X4 tunnel ram on my 88 Ranger 289 V8 swap. After installing intake and new thermostat, truck runs for approx. 15 mins. then quickly heats up and blows coolant over into overflow jug. Rear coolant passages on tunnel ram are open as to where they wern't on the 4bbl intake, would this possibly be causing my problems?? Any input would be GREATLY appreciated. THANKS!!:icon_confused:

If you still have heater hoses connected, you have to run the heater on hot for 15 minutes to get the air out of the core (the air will get back into your engine & cause the temp to spike....it took me nearly an hour of idling my v8 to get all the air out of the coolant system...
adding water as the level slowly dropped in the radiator--had the rad. cap off the whole time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BE CAREFULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as for the extra passages now flowing--I don;t know if that's the problem
