Hello all.....I came out to truck this am and noticed a pool of water under front end. 2011 Ranger Sport 4.0 and looking further I noticed (pic) this area was pooled with moisture. Can you tell me what is needed parts wise, looks to be a failed gasket but not sure. I removed intake tube for better access. Thanks
Jim

I second the aluminum housing. The OEM plastic ones are prone to leaking and cracking. They get brittle over time feom the heat from the coolant and the heat in the engine bay.

Make sure the sealing surface is smooth and shiney. The seal for that area is kinda flimsy and any steps you can take to give it the best chance at success, the better.

Article here with pictures on what you will need to change that housing: http://howtoreplacefordthermostathousing.com/

+1 on the metal housing

The 4.0l SOHC engines use 2 long timing chains, each has a tensioner that should be replaced every 100k miles or so
The drivers side front tensioner needs to have the throttle body removed to change it...................
So if you are at, or over, 100k miles you may want to change the tensioners at this time
Passenger side rear tensioner is easy to access thru wheel well
