Coolant leak

Alright i fixed a coolant leak from my thermostat housing about a month ago...the problem was the one bolt's threads were striped so we re-threaded it...before we re-threaded and noticed it was stripped we had put a new thermostat gasket ring in it.....it is now leaking AGAIN....um...just buy another o-ring?...the re-threading worked the bolts are tight...what do you think....sorry about the long read

Are you using any RTV silicone on the mating surfaces of the housing and the lower intake?

no i think so should i be...i was told the o ring was enough
