I'm in the need of the coolant hose fitting on the front drivers side of the intake for the 2.8 v6. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

hi, any chance you could post a picture? I do have a couple spare 2.8 engines, however if it is the piece I am thinking of, you should be able to order one from rock auto?

cheers

This is the location seems to be metric thread.

ok i will take a picture of what I have, I am guessing it is the large hole on top of intake you are needing the fitting that houses the water temp sending unit... check back in a couple minutes.

ok here are 2 pics, i am guessing it is the pipe one you need.... that part should have been placed into the intake before the engine went together, as it will be very hard to tighten the fitting now with the heads and water pump housing in the way... I hope not for you sake. but I was trying to take it off with the engine together... might be hard. that part would be a standard pipe fitting from (hardware stores) or a general pipe supply place?

No sir it has a metric thread nit npt thread. But yet that is the part I need.

full length 49MM the 15/16 wrench was able to get the pipe out. (box end 12 point) pipe OD 20MM threads (best guess is 21.7MM) I don't have a metric wrench that fits this size, so 15/16 is best i can do.

shout if i can help more.

It's in rough shape where the hose goes over it... you can have it if you can't find one there.

can you try cross referencing it with pinto/mustang 2.8 engines? (or even a 2.6) I am sure there has to be a place that will have a cross reference for this. I can not see it not being available somewhere.

I called summit racing but couldn't find the conversion from the metric to npt threads. If I couldn't figure out the size is may be able to call me back.

you are probably correct on metric threads... as i did try to align them up with sea threads from my tap/die set and nothing was 100% same. i don't know if summit would have it but its a start to try. nothing in just local parts stores you can call and ask at? cheers
