how much would that be more work? would there have to be more wiring or whats the difference? anyone that has done the 3.0 to 4.0 v6 ???

Very few have! You will have to have a complete donor vehicle with a 4.0 in it. That swap needs EVERYTHING! From radiator to tail pipes. All wiring, transmission, driveshaft... EVERYTHING!

So you might as well just do a 5.0 swap correct? I don't see it being that worth it if all that is involved.

In newer rangers the 3.0 radiator is the same as the 4.0 radiator (at least for the manual tranny ones)

The driveshafts shouldn't need to be swapped out (unless the 4.0 tranny is longer, but I thought they were the same length... just different bellhousing patterns and the first 3 gear ratios in the manual trans. Your old transfercase will bolt up as well.

But you're still looking at engine/trans/wiring/computer.

Sorry jim but I had to pick apart the big huge "everythings" :icon_twisted:

The thing you gotta wonder is, is the ~20 horse gain really worth it?

I personally would go v8 or just stick with the 3.0

Oh, and YELL-O
