Sure can. some are easier to do then others. You will need a good donor vehicle probably to make it go much easier. Use the search function many have done/talk about this same thing.
It will take a lot of work no matter how you do it. If you have a 2000 2wd and it isn't an Edge or Sport, then you will have to do a SAS (Solid Axle Swap) as there is NO way to swap in factory 4wd parts because of the differences in the front portion of the frame.
if you are gonna convert from 2wd to 4wd then ya might as well do a SAS, in my opinion, but it might even just be worth your time to just buy the truck with 4x4 already
Does your 2wd truck have torsion bars or coil springs? If it has torsion bars, look at this thread to see how to convert to 4wd. If it has coil springs, do an SAS, or find a 4wd frame and swap the body over, or buy a 4wd truck.
i have coil springs i was hopping that i didn't have to do a frame swap. my wife has a 2003 sports trax and she was to lift it but i can't find any lift kits to lift it. can the spindles off my ranger work on her truck.
