i started the conversion yesterday, getting the 2001 2.5 out of the 1990 ranger was the worst part. The 302 was a bit tricky in that the clearance was a problem on the oil pan. I used the 6 quart rear sump pan, It cleared the crossmember but not the right I beam. A little cutting and clearanceing and we we good. I used the explorer manifolds, the left was perfect, the right is a little tight at the firewall, the exhaust shop can make it work but they are gonna hate me. I'll modify the heater box today, shouldnt be to bad, but I'll have to remove the valve cover to get it back on. I'm running v belts so the alternator and ps pump will be installed today also. By all the reading I had dont the aod should have been longer making the driveshaft shorter, looks like i'll have to lengthen that. I'll be posting pics soon if anyone is interested.
