My 90 ranger with the 4.0 has a consitent miss.It is better after replacing the plugs(2 were hotter plugs) and running seafoam through the intake. I cleaned out the IAC and the DIS coil is new too. The wires were replaced last month. What the heck is left.I plan on putting in a new fuel filter this weekend.Help!

What is a constant miss? Does it miss at idle? Does it miss when lugging the engine? Does it miss ahen the engine is at speed and not lugging?
Does it spit and sputter?
Did it miss before replacing the wires?

The check engine light isn't on,but I dont know how to pull codes out of it anyways.
The miss is at ALL speeds and idle. it was sputtering before I did the wires, thats why I replaced everything. I did notice a condensor with a wire pigtailed into it that connects to the coil pack, and the insulation is missing on the wire but no auto parts store has a clue what it is.

Graff... thanks for that post. I was wondering where it was and you did the work for me.

As far as the condensor thing 88LXdad was talking about... I believe that is the noise suppressor.
